Health Care records - A guide for NHS staff
The NHS Care Records Service will help NHS organisations in England to store patient health care records on computers that will link information together quickly and easily. It will be introduced from 2006 and all the links between systems should be completed by 2010. Currently this information is stored in a number of places and a variety of ways - including paper, computers and film. Getting access to full patient information quickly can, therefore, prove difficult. In the future, each patient will have a personal electronic NHS Care Record which can be quickly accessed by health care professionals legitimately involved in the patient's care. All staff need to be aware of NHS CRS and have a working knowledge of what it means.
Click on the link below for further information regarding Health care records.
